The Empire Series Review : Synopsis

The Empire is about the life of Babur, The Mongol invader who was made King, at a young age due to his father’s death and fear of Muhammad Shaybani Khan attacking Farghana (Babur’s home). The series depicts the rise and fall of the Mughal empire, hardships, betrayals, struggles, and invading India.

The Empire Series Review:

Babur, played by Kunal Kapoor, suits to be the Mughal King, supported by Khanzada, his elder sister played by Drashti Dhami followed by Dino Morea playing Shaybani Khan. This is a fictional series, based on the novel series Empire of the Moghul by Alex Rutherford.
Nikhil Advani creates magic with this series. Show’s visuals, sets, costumes, and the performance of the main cast work in the favour of the series. If you like periodic drama, this is for you. A huge step towards creating awesome word-class series can be consumed by world audiences. An Indian series made for the world. The show is a fiction series and with all ingredients perfectly placed, be it love, war, betrayal.

The Empire Series Review: Plot

Coming to the story, young Babur was forced to become King at a young age due to the death of his father Umar sheik. Plotting against him was his court minister and stepmother, which leads to Muhammad Shaybani Khan defeating Babur and capture Farghana (their home). As part of the deal to save their lives, Khanzada, Babur’s elder sister who was dear to him, had to marry Shaybani.
Babur becomes cold and loses focus, but after a reality check session by his grandmother Aisan Daulat Begum, he starts building his army, and with the help of the Persion army, he marches towards Shaybani Khan to release her sister from his capture.
Khanzada falls in love with Shaybani Khan but chooses her brother over him, tricks him, and becomes a reason for his death. With Babur becoming the new acting King under Persian rule, he decides to marry Gulrukh, daughter of Kabul King, to become the King of Kabul.
Babur then travels to Hindustan, defeats Ibrahim Lodi in the battle of Panipat, and establishes the Mughal dynasty. Babur finds it difficult to choose the successor between his two sons. Gulrukh does everything to ensure her son to be the King while Khanzada has different views.
