After being humiliated when a live stream of her breakup results in loss of followers and sponsorship deals, Padgett Sawyer, an Instagram influencer accepts a challenge to turn the school’s least popular boy into prom king to win back her followers and brand endorsements.
He’s All That Movie Review – Plot:
Padgett Sawyer (TikTok superstar Addison Rae) is an Instagram influencer, a final year high school student, who lives with her divorced mother, a local nurse (Rachael Leigh Cook), although she pretends she lives in a wealthy condo to hide her actual living conditions from her followers and sponsors.
Padgett went to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday but discovers he (Peyton Meyer) is cheating on her with a backup dancer and finds herself being humiliated when a live stream of their breakup results in her loss of followers and sponsorship deals. To redeem herself, she accepts a challenge to turn the school’s least popular boy, Cameron Kweller (Tanner Buchanan), an antisocial photography student, into prom king.
She collects information about him, with the help of his younger sister Brin(who was Jordan Van Draanen fan, Padgett ex-boyfriend).
Despite his indifference towards her, Padgett to win the challenge begins taking horse riding lessons with him to come closer to him. Over time, while keeping her word on the challenge, Padgett begins to bond more with Cameron and discovers that he and his younger sister lost their mother years ago and that they live with their grandmother while their father is residing in Sweden. Padgett fixes up Cameron’s appearance and attire and tries expanding his social interactions at her friend Quinn’s party, where he saves her from suffering humiliation when Jordan appears with his date.
But at her best friend Alden’s birthday party, Cameron gets into a fight with Jordan and leaves the party in a rage despite Padgett’s attempts to console him.
The next day, more to her shock, Alden reveals her plot to become prom queen alongside Jordan, revealing she is responsible for live-streaming Padgett’s breakup.
Padgett begins to fall for Cameron but she is afraid to express her feelings after she kisses him. Brin finds out that Padgett kissed Cameron, she advises Cameron to ask her to prom but while doing he discovers Padgett was being nice to him as part of the bet, which made him angry and leave the prom king race.
Despite all that happening, Padgett’s mother wants her to still go and tells her to be the real her.
As Cameron didn’t show up, Padgett declined the Prom Queen crown, but to her surprise, Cameron came to meet her outside school riding on a horse.
