A sweetmaker determined to make a delicious and unique sweet as promised to his wife led to the invention of rasogolla but it came through a lot of challenges and failure. The movie traces the life of Nobin Chandra Das, Bengal’s legendary confectioner.
Rasogolla Movie Review:
A boy living with her widowed mother, loves to cook but his uncle doesn’t like him cooking as it’s against their family reputation, but he is determined to become a confectioner so starts working in a sweet shop, but due to some events, he was kicked out. In one such event, he meets his future wife and promises to make a unique, white-like moon, round delicious sweet. But after multiple iterations and a lot of failures he was unable to make the same.
One day, after a fight with his wife, he was sitting at the bank of a river, where he saw a group of musicians passing by, so he went with them to a British home, to entertain them. The British in charge liked Nobin’s song and discussed their common passion, food was one of them but he never knew this meeting would change his life, as he discovered the secret of making the important ingredient, which led to the making of the famous sweet ‘Rosogolla’.
