Joji Movie Review: Plot (Some spoilers ahead.. )
Panachel house headed by Kuttappan P, the stern and uncompromising head of the family, suddenly has a stroke. The enormous house seemed to be veiled in gloomy despair but the further we delve into their lives we see how everyone wants to use this “misfortune” to their benefit.
Jomon the eldest son, an alcoholic and a divorcee lives in the house with his son Popy. He seems to be the only one with some sort of empathy towards his father. Jaison, a spineless middle child and, his wife Bincy also share the same roof. Finally Joji, the youngest son, a college dropout who is looking for the ultimate shortcut to life without having to lift a finger.
Joji, sick and tired of being under his father’s thumb, sees an opportunity to finally rid the family of the patriarch.
Joji Movie Review:
Although the story is inspired by Macbeth, there is no Lady Macbeth as such. Bincy who turns the other way, when she finds Joji sneaking into his father’s room and switching medicines, is the closest to a lady Macbeth we’ll get.
Things seem to go well for everyone after the death of Kuttappan, but another disaster awaits this unsuspecting family. They say, ‘to hide a lie, you need a thousand lies more’. What is required to cover one murder?
Watch as the plot unfolds effortlessly and keeps you glued to your screen.
Joji Movie Review
The movie takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s Macbeth. But director Dileesh and writer Syam must be given all credits for their superb rendition of the story. The camera pans across the huge Panachel estate and somber music plays in the background, which transports you into their world effortlessly. It is realistic and simple yet so powerful.
The movie has no unnecessary fluff and is to the point. Every scene has importance and weighs heavily on the viewer.
The amazing cast and their ever so subtle performances hit all the right notes. Every character played by Fahadh Faasil makes you think he was born to play the role, and nothing is different with this one either. He plays the part to perfection.
A movie must be worthy to get a good review but we hope this review is worthy of the brilliant movie!
